Introduction to Buddhist Faith

Introduction to Buddhist Faith
Saturday, May 4th, 10-11:30am
With Kadampa Teacher, Katherine Brown

Taking to heart the advice that faith should be our main practice, this monthly class series offers the opportunity to explore what our practice of faith entails and how we can overcome seeming obstacles so that our mind of faith develops and deepens. The promise of faith in a Buddhist path is freedom from sorrow and suffering, in this life and countless future lives—for ourselves and others. But what does faith in a Buddhist path mean? In guided meditations and by drawing on passages from Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s books we will delve into this and other questions, such as: What, for a Kadampa, is faith (and what it is not)? What does it mean to have faith in Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha? What benefits come from a mind of faith? Why is faith essential to our spiritual growth? What are the benefits of faith in a Spiritual Guide?

This class is suitable for everyone. No experience necessary.
