Taught by Lloyd Williams, Kadampa Buddhist Teacher, this class gives us an opportunity to go deeper into Buddhist philosophy and meditation experience. Each class includes a short discussion and two guided meditations. Everyone is welcome.

It may seem like compassion is a sad mind, because we can't bear the suffering that we and others are encountering. However, Buddha taught that compassion is a joyful mind. Not because we are happy about others suffering, but because we can transform our mind through love and compassion to create a world where there isn’t suffering.

Come explore the four immeasurables:

May everyone be happy,

May everyone be free from misery,

May no one ever be separated from their happiness,

May everyone have equanimity, free from hatred and attachment.

Experience how we can generate a joyful mind of compassion through our love for others. This inspiring discovery can heal our mental pain and lead us to attain a lasting state of joy and peace for ourself and for others.

What to Expect at a Class

Our Thursday evening introductory meditation class begins with a guided meditation, followed by a talk on a certain topic (listed above), and ends with another guided meditation. Class is followed by refreshments and time to chat with the teacher and other students. No previous experience is necessary.
