About the Teacher

Kitty Connolly, Kadampa Teacher

Kitty has been a practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism for over 15 years. She’s skilled at imparting Buddha’s timeless wisdom in a practical way to help students take the teachings to heart.

Morning meditation helps to create the inner space and clarity we need to confidently and calmly step into our day. Buddhist meditation, in particular, helps us transform daily life into the spiritual path by cultivating beneficial views and intentions in meditation, and then taking them into our day.

Our meditations will be more effective when we add chanted prayers to our practice because they function to purify negativity, accumulate merit, and help us receive water like blessings that increase their power.

In each session Kitty will give a short commentary to ‘The New Meditation Handbook’ and explain the purpose of the meditation, how to engage in the meditation, and how to integrate the meditation into daily activities. The meditations will be lightly guided so that practitioners can gain skill in contemplative meditation

Classes includes a brief teaching, chanted prayers, and lightly guided meditation. You do not need to be Buddhist to take part and benefit. No previous experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome!
