Join us for a special opportunity to help Rhode Island Food Bank by picking apples from the University of Rhode Island Experimental Apple Orchard (URI East Farm, Kingston, RI). Sitting on roughly 10 acres, the orhard has over 20 varieties of apple trees. AKBC sangha member and URI master gardener, Terry Meyer, will teach us how to pick the apples and prepare them for donation.

Each volunteer is invited to share in the harvest by taking up to 10 apples home, enough for a pie (bring a your own take-home bag). Keep in mind that we will be sharing this beautiful outdoor space with deer, flying insects, and lots of sunshine so plan accordingly. Kids and family are welcome so come join in the fun!
